Who Am I?
I am a maker. I make sculptures, faces, choices, change. When I grow up I want to make a difference. I am a maker.
Bio:
A tradesman, a woodsman, an artist, and a maker, James Westermann is a Vermont renaissance man whose passion is taking imagination into creation. James was born and raised in Morrisville, Vermont where much of his youth was spent tinkering in his father’s wood shop and in the woods building bike trails. He has been making large steel sculptures out of found objects since 2003, and continues to explore the challenge of making the materials he works with appear to do the impossible, especially playing with gravity and balance. He is a certified welder and electrician and has extensive experience in construction. He considers himself both a dreamer and a perfectionist, a combination that results in visually striking, precisely measured and expertly crafted work.
